I first heard Paul Harvey’s broadcast, ‘If I Were the Devil,’ over twenty years ago. I was surprised by how accurately this broadcast from 1965 lined up with the events at the time thirty-nine years later. As the broadcast approaches its 60th anniversary, its relevance to current events has only grown stronger. Good Friday, the Friday before Easter, is the Christian day to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus and His death at Calvary.
Good Friday is good because of what Christ did for mankind. Yes it is gruesome, but it was necessary to reconcile man to God and only His Son could accomplish this for us. Scripture shows us that death is not the end of the road. Resurrection is ahead. Resurrection is promised.

I have often heard people ask the question. Why does God let bad things happen? This question is often raised in different scenarios. Some ask the question after something tragic happens to them or someone they love. Or maybe they or a family member received bad news from a doctor. Just turning on the news for some might prompt the question, how could a supposed loving God allow such bad things to happen?

I have often heard people say that they have met or known Christians who do not act or talk as they think Christians should. The imperfections they see in these so called Christians justify their belief that Christianity is false or flawed. To further their justification of their belief, they might point to a recent scandal involving a religious leader or actions that have been overlooked by a church.

How can a scientist believe in God? The answer, science has already discovered God, according to Dr. Gerald Schroeder. I am not a physicist so I can not argue for or against this concept, but I find his argument compelling. Give it a watch and see what you think.
